Step-by-Step: How to Design Your Water Bottle Labels in Canva
- Create a Custom Canvas
- In Canva, click Create a Design → Custom Size.
- Set the width to 8 inches and height to 1.5 inches.
- Turn on Rulers & Guides
- Go to File → Settings → Show Rulers and Guides.
- Add guides at the 2.5″ and 5.5″ marks to divide your label into sections.
- Add Clipart & Elements
- Use the Uploads tab to add your own graphics, or search Canva’s Elements library.
- If you’re using the free version, scroll to the Filter Options and select Free under Price.
- Click on an element to add it to your label. Many graphics let you change colors to match your party theme!
- Save Your Design
- Once finished, click Share → Download → PNG (set the size multiplier to 1.5× for best print quality).

Printing and Cutting Your Labels by Hand
If you’re cutting by hand:
- Create a new Canva page and resize it to 8.5 x 11 inches.
- Upload your label image, resize to 8″ x 1.5″, and duplicate 5–6 across the page.
- Download as PDF Print for high-quality results.
- Print using your Epson EcoTank Photo ET-8550 with these settings:
- Paper Type: Photo Paper
- Print Quality: Best
- Scale: Actual Size
- Cut your labels with scissors or a paper trimmer.

Cutting Labels with Cricut Design Space
- Open Cricut Design Space → New Project → Upload Image.
- Choose your PNG label, select Flat Graphic, and Unlock to Resize.
- Resize to 8″ x 1.5″ and duplicate — you can fit about 4 on a single 8.5×11 page.
- Choose Print Then Cut, send to printer, and make sure to:
- Turn Off Add Bleed
- Turn On Use System Dialog
- Print using the same Epson settings as above.
- Place your printed sheet on a LightGrip Mat and choose Washi Tape Setting for the perfect kiss-cut — it’ll cut through the vinyl layer but not the backing, making your labels easy to peel!

Are the Labels Really Waterproof?
Yes! When printed on HWTK Waterproof Glossy Vinyl Sticker Paper, the ink won’t smear or bleed — even when exposed to water.
We tested them by running water over a labeled bottle, and they stayed vibrant, glossy, and perfectly intact.

Using Regular Glossy Paper Instead
If you prefer to use DIY Party Glossy Paper Sheets, they still give a bright, professional finish but aren’t fully waterproof.
They can handle a light mist or condensation but shouldn’t be submerged in water.
💡 Application Tip:
Leave a small white edge on one side of the label and add a strip of double-sided tape along that section only.
Wrap the label around your bottle and press the taped edge down to seal — smooth, bubble-free, and tape-efficient!
