How to Assemble Your DIY Chip Bag

Now for the fun part—putting it all together! 🎉

Don’t worry if your first chip bag isn’t perfect. Like anything else, it gets easier with a little practice. Before you assemble a full batch, I always recommend making one test bag first. That way, you can check the fit, folds, and alignment before printing the rest.

Step 1: Place Your Wrapper Face Down

First, lay your printed chip bag wrapper face down on a clean, flat surface. This makes it much easier to fold the wrapper neatly and line everything up before adding any adhesive.

Step 2: Position Your Chip Bag

Next, place an unopened 1-ounce snack-size chip bag in the center of the wrapper.

Making treat bags instead? No problem! Instead of wrapping chips, you can fill your finished bag with candy, small toys, or other party favors. In that case, you have two options:

Place everything inside a small zip-top bag first to keep it together.
Alternatively, wait until you’ve sealed the bottom of the wrapper before adding your treats.

Step 3: Seal the Back

Add a strip of double-sided tape or a thin line of hot glue along one short edge of the wrapper.

Carefully wrap the paper around the chip bag, overlapping the opposite edge until the back seam is nice and straight.
