FREE Summer Reading Programs for kids, Studies have shown that kids can lose two-three months of education during their summer breaks.

Studies also show that reading four to five books over the summer has a positive impact.

One of the ways that I like to help keep my kiddos entertained and continue learning throughout the summer is having them participate in Free Summer Reading Programs for kids.

The kids LOVE participating; they’re having fun reading and earning cool prizes at the same time.

#1 Your Local LibraryThe best Summer Reading Programs can be found right at you local Library. Please take advantage of their reading programs.

2.Barnes & Noble Summer Reading Program Kids who Read eight books and record them in the provided online reading journal can choose a FREE BOOK from their selection on the Reading Journal list at the store between May 15th and September 3rd, 2018.

3.Chuck E. Cheese’ Reading Rewards– Their reading program is ongoing, Kids read every day for two weeks straight and earn ten free tokens to use on their next visit. You can Get a Free Reading Rewards Calendar on the Chuck E. Cheese site.

4. Free Summer Reading Programs for kids
Six Flags Read to Succeed -Kids in grades K-6 who complete six hours of recreational reading earn a free ticket to Six Flags! My kids did this last year. The NEW 2018 season hasn’t started yet, but it will soon so keep checking their website.

5.Half Price Book Feed Your Brain Summer Reading Program– Half Price will reward your child with a Free gift if they read for at least 300 minutes during June and July. They will get $5 for each month.

Scholastic’s Summer Challenge: Kids can log the minutes they spend reading, play games, earn virtual rewards, and enter sweepstakes.

#7 Showcase Cinemas Bookworm Wednesdays Summer reading program– Every Wednesday kids will receive free admission to a select children’s film when they present a book report at a participating Cinema de Lux, Showcase, or Multiplex Cinemas box office. (kids under six will receive free admission and do not need to submit a book report)

#8 Free Summer Reading Programs for kids
Sylvan’s Book Adventure Program– This program is for children in grades K-8. They search for books, read them offline, come back to quiz on what they’ve read and earn prizes for their reading success.
